Creating Space for the Life You Deserve

The Clean Slate Living Company

Creating space for the life you deserve

Happy (Almost) Birthday, Clean Slate!

Two years ago I took a risk and embarked on what has been on one of the most exciting, fulfilling, and fun adventures of my life: starting a business! Clean Slate has been in my heart for a long time (at least a decade!). The best thing about turning my dream into a reality has been seeing how my gift of home organization & space design truly changes the lives of my clients. Freedom from clutter is a game-changer, and being able to create space for new opportunities and ways of living is my favorite thing to do!

I am honored to share an interview I did with Shoutout Colorado. Serving my clients in Colorado is a privilege, and I cannot wait to keep growing and expanding my reach. Exciting things are happening for Clean Slate. My mission to change lives one garage, closet, or panty at a time is right on track!

Shoutout Colorado Feature:

Hi Adrian, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my business, Clean Slate Living, is my unwavering belief in the Why. Why Clean Slate and why now? Your environment has a profound impact on your well being, both physically and spiritually. I have a fundamental desire to help others and make a difference in the world, and I truly believe that creating space for others improves their lives, livelihood, and overall happiness. I’ve seen the proof working with my clients! It is why I started my business, why it continues to be important to me, and why it continues to thrive. The impact organizing a space and creating a simple system has on my clients is profound, motivating, and life-changing. It is what keeps me going and what makes me love what I do!

What should our readers know about your business?
Clean Slate Living is a company that helps you get organized, save time and money, and create space for the life you deserve! What sets Clean Slate apart from other organizing companies is my ability to meet you where you are. I don’t strive for perfection. I strive to create space that works for YOU. I have years of facilitation and teaching experience which puts me in a unique position to meet my clients where they are, discover their needs, and create a custom system and space that improves their life and enables them to thrive. I am not concerned with creating Pinterest-worthy spaces (although most of the spaces I design and organize end up looking FABULOUS!) as much as I am interested in creating space that is functional, easy, and stress free. I am the Conquerer of Clutter and Creator of Ease. There is no space too cluttered or messy. In fact, I truly believe the bigger the mess, the bigger the transformation. I love lifting the weight of clutter from my client’s shoulders, and freeing up their time and energy for more important things. I create space for Possibility, Creativity, and Life!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oooooh! This is a fun one! As a former actor, I would definitely say a night at the theatre is in order. Catching a show at Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, Miners Alley Playhouse, or Buntport Theatre would be a must. I am also a major foodie. Dinner at Uncle (Spicy Chicken Ramen) and Blue Pan Pizza (The Brooklyn Bridge) would be on the schedule. Brunch at The Bindery (get there early for the TDF Strawberry Croissants) and lunch at Masterpiece Delicatessen would round out a lovely food tour. For dessert, Sweet Action is the perfect topper! As a lover of the Arts, I would catch the current exhibits at the Denver Art Museum. I would also get tickets for the interactive Space Odyssey exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and follow it up with a stroll around Denver’s gorgeous City Park. An evening sunset watch at Red Rocks, followed by live music in the fresh air. No matter the season, I spend as much time as possible outdoors exploring the mountains, so a day hike to Beaver Brook and an overnight trip in Rocky Mountain National Park would be on the agenda. If the snow is flying, a backcountry ski tour of the San Juans is my idea of the perfect weekend. That is a pretty full week, but I would also squeeze a day on the water in there! Fly-fishing or floating, I would be a happy camper.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As corny as it sounds, I could not have done this without the unwavering support of my family, my friends (who are like family), and my husband. They have helped me every step of the way from brainstorming the name of my company (Thank you, Caryn Flanagan!), to assuring me that my skills and time are valuable (Thank you, Jada Dixon!), to motivating me to take the leap (Thank you, dad!). Ultimately, my mother taught me everything I know about creating a functional space that feels peaceful and bright, and emanates warmth. She made prioritizing your space and self-care routine simple and effortless. I have carried the skills she gave me throughout my life, and I built my business around them.
